Abstract
A wide class of control problems, including state and output feedback control for stabilizing unstable objects, modal control, optimal attenuation of disturbances, control under state and input constraints, control under uncertain parameters and initial states, is studied using linear matrix inequalities. Some examples of the control problems for mechanical systems are given
