Abstract
Scheglov To analyze the dynamics of overhead conductors, a mathematical model is developed which describes aeroelastic vibrations of the conductor exposed to subsonic incompressible flow, and numerical method is presented to analyze using direct numerical simulation of unsteady separated flow around cross-sections of the vibrating conductor. Unsteady loads acting on the conductor are calculated for specified cross-sections in the assumption that the flow around each cross-section is close to plane-parallel. For the simulation of the flow around cross-sections the meshless vortex elements method is used. The efficiency of the developed algorithm is ensured by paralleling the calculations, so that flows around separate cross-sections and aerodynamic loads acting on them are calculated on different computational nodes of parallel computer system. The designed mathematical model and the program implementing it can be used for modeling the oscillations of overhead conductors and investigation of such phenomena as vibration and galloping.
