A modified hydrodynamic model of the С
60 molecule polarization response has been developed on the basis of the quantum (non-quasiclassical) description of longitudinal waves in a Fermi-degenerate plasma. The model allows one to take into account the spatial dispersion in this plasma formed by the valence (delocalized) electrons. The frequency dependence of the С
60 dipole moment and scattering cross-section is calculated. It is shown that an appropriate choice of the damping constant results in a satisfactory agreement between calculated and experimentally observed resonance curves. |
