Abstract
The membrane resistance values at rest and during the electrical response to injury have been measured. According to the available literature data, the changes in membrane resistance can be used to estimate the activity of transmembrane ion flows. The electrical resistance changes of Cucurbita pepo L. cell plasmalemma at a depth of 2-3 layers from the stem surface have been measured during the electrical response to burn. A drop in membrane resistance has been registered at varition potential generation that may testify to the existence of passive ion flows through the membrane.
