Based on the analysis of E. Wallace's short stories “Sanders of the River” and film adaptations of the series, the changes in the "description language" of the Dark Continent's inhabitants are traced with the passing of time since the beginning of the 20th century until the 1960s. The paper examines the conservation of some stable characteristics of the orientalist discourse. |
