Abstract
Root and hypocotyl growth of tomato and rape seedlings under the action of salicylic acid and zeatin was investigated. The dose-response dependences for both substances are presented by multi-phase non-monotonic curves. The shape of the curves of one substance changed in the presence of various concentrations of the other substance. It is suggested that the biological role of complexity in the dose-response dependences consists in generation of physiological diversity of genetically similar individuals.
