Free angular motions of a deformable elastic body with a small anisotropy of elastic properties and the quasispherical inertia tensor in its undeformed state are studied. It is shown that a decrease in the body's angular velocity can lead to a displacement of its stable stationary rotation axis. The results obtained allow one to propose a possible mechanism of the global movement of the Earth's poles. |
