| This article analyzes Ficino's aesthetic concept based on the Italian version of the commentary on Plato's «Sym- posium» (called «El libro dell'amore»). The features of this Renaissance philosopher's aesthetics are discussed in a historical and philosophical Neoplatonic vein, based on the traditional Hellenistic-Christian paradigm. The spiritual essence of beauty and the problem of the dualism of external and internal are identified by comparison with the the- ology of the Areopagiticas. |
