The article deals with the characteristics of the city-building policy of the Macedonian kings, the influence of foreign culture on the Macedonian court life and the relations between the Greeks and Macedonians within the Hellenic leagues of 338 and 224 B.C. The author concludes that Macedonians widely borrowed foreign elements in political, social and cultural fields, but Hellenization of their state was the result of the pragmatic policy of the Macedonian rulers. |
