A hypothesis about the thermal-mechanical nature of self-oscillations of metals machined by cutting is introduced, that makes it possible to generalize the main available models of this effect. Based on the hypothesis, an analytical and a numerical models of excitation of self-vibrations are developed. The adequacy of the results obtained is corroborated by the results of realistic experiments. |
