Abstract
The FTIR absorption spectra of the model compounds: diphenyl ether, 2,2-diphenylpropane, phthalimide, and N-phthalimide are studied. The spectra of these compounds, whose structure is close to that of fragments of many polyetherimides, are used to interpret the polyetherimide vibration spectrum.
