Abstract
An analysis of some dynamics peculiarities of an electromagnetically suspended flexible rotor in the range of nonlinear resonances has been carried out. Necessary conditions for the excitation of subharmonic oscillations have been obtained as a result of a qualitative investigation of the uniform rotor mathematical model. Experimental results for real rotor designs are presented to confirm the qualitative conclusions made.
