| With the development of information technologies, it is possible to create public opinion regardless of the actual events. The Georgian–Ossetian conflict of August 2008 was one of the examples of the armed conflict the information about which was presented by traditional and «new media» in a distorted way. This fact has allowed for a certain period to form the world public opinion about Russia as the aggressor in this conflict, which was not the case. |
