| After coming into force in 1999 of the Code of Byelorussia on Marriage and Family, some changes and additions have been made to it, including those concerning legal regulation of spouses’ duties on mutual support. However, some positions of the matrimonial legislation need clarification and improvement. This article examines the basis for obligations on mutual support. It is proposed to establish obligatory rules for means testing and determining the disability of spouses and to expand the list of conditions under which a spouse has the right to be supported. Some proposals to improve the legislation are also made. |
