| We consider the problem of the evolution of the category of the tragic in the aesthetic space of Giuseppe Verdi's operas and the significance of the composer's work for the formation of the Italian national and European opera. The typological convergence of the work of Verdi and Wagner is also highlighted. The anniversaries of these two great masters of the 19th-century opera are celebrated by the cultural community in 2013. |
