The linear and nonlinear stage of the disturbances development on impenetrable and porous surfaces is investigated theoretically at Mach numbers of М = 2 and 6. The important result of this theoretical study is that using the phase shift between disturbances of pressure and normal velocity component it is possible to control the beginning of laminar-turbulent transition of a boundary layer. The effect of permeability of a surface on the stability and laminar-turbulent transition of a supersonic boundary layer at М = 2 is investigated experimentally and theoretically. Good quantitative agreement of the data of the linear stability theory and the experiment is achieved both for natural and artificial (controllable) disturbance. |
