Abstract
Experimental investigations of the subsonic round and plane jets depending on the mean velocity profile at the nozzle exit were carried out. The mean velocity profile is varied from top-hat to parabolic. The research technique included the hot-wire anemometric measurements and flow smoke visualization with synchronization of the narrow laser sheet lighting by acoustical action frequency on the jet. Peculiarities of the jet development depending on changes of the initial conditions at the nozzle exit are presented.
