Abstract
Irregular reflection of weak shock waves under the von Neumann paradox conditions is studied numerically, using Euler and Navier?Stokes equations. In the inviscid case, the existence of a local supersonic region behind the reflected shock wave in the vicinity of the triple point is confirmed by shock-capturing computations. In the viscous case, a prototype of a configuration with a supersonic region behind the reflected wave is found only for very high Reynolds numbers (Re = 1.6?10
