Abstract
The paper reviews numerical and experimental investigations of evolution of disturbances generated in the hypersonic viscous shock layer on a flat plate by external acoustic waves and by perturbations introduced into the shock layer from the surface of the model. The entropy-vortex disturbances dominate inside the shock layer at small angles of attack (a < 15o). The interference method was realized to control these disturbances. As the angle of attack is increased, intensive growth of pressure disturbances on the plate surface is observed. The method of sound-absorbing coating is used for the suppression of disturbances in this case.
