This paper presents a new approach to the study of equilibrium plasma configurations, based on systematic use of two-fluid hydrodynamic description of electron-ion plasma, taking into account the inertia of electrons. The plasmastatic equations which generalize the well-known Grad-Shafranov equation are obtained. It is shown that the basic configuration properties do not depend on a small parameter - the mass ratio of electron and ion, but are determined by the inertial length. |
