In this study, the suppression of detonation by injecting inert particles in a reactive gas mixture is investigated. Conditions for the suppression of detonation are found, i.e. the minimum length of the particle cloud, which completely quenches the detonation wave, is calculated. The effect of changing the volume concentration of particles in the cloud on the effectiveness of the suppression of detonation is studied. It is found that the determining parameter is the length of the cloud, at which quenches the wave of ignition and combustion. It is shown that for different configurations of the volume concentration distribution of the particles in the cloud this length is the same.
