Studies of symmetrical vortex structure stability in separated subsonic flow over slender bodies are presented. The problem is reduced to the analyses of an ordinary differential equation system for streamlines. Using the catastrophe theory, an exact stability criterion is obtained for conical flows. The results are verified by comparison with experimental data. |
