Abstract
A general case of Yu.N. Rabotnov's kinetic creep theory is considered. Contrary to the differential equation for damage postulated therein, the kinetic equations in this work are derived within the framework of Onsager formal description of phenomenological thermodynamics of irreversible processes. a new damage detection method that uses the results of standard creep tests is developed. A differential equation for damage is derived using simple approximation of creep curves. The related experimental data is presented. A new model of creep process considering a growing rate stage is suggested, using an integral operator of Lebesgue norm type and instability function determined experimentally.
