Abstract
The problem of large displacements of middle surface points of finite length shell (ring) under external hydrostatic pressure is solved on the base of kinematic model applying the collocation method, used in the previous work of the author (together with C.A. Shesterikov). Based on the condition of that the stable quasi-static process ends at the small deflections (relative to the average radius of non-deformed cross-section)бthe enclosed expressions for crtical time(under the conditions of elongation) and critical pressure under the conditins of non-lnear elasticity).
