Elastodynamic response of anisotropic laminate composite structures with defects subjected to a surface force loading is considered. The goal of the work presented is to develop convenient mathematical and computer models for guided wave excitation, propagation and diffraction by obstacles in composites. Starting from an integral representation of the solution of the 3D boundary value problem considered, explicit and asymptotic expressions for guided waves generated by a given source are obtained by means of series expansions and the residue technique. An effective computer implementation is achieved by the use these expressions and of fast and stable algorithms for the Green matrix, pole, and residue calculations. In cooperation with German colleagues experimental validation is performed showing a great potential of the developed models in practical applications. A method for elastic material properties estimation based on the analysis of piezo-electrically induced transient wave-patterns measured by laser vibrometry is also proposed. |
