A numerical method is proposed for calculating the stressed state of the parts of a cold rolling mill for large-diameter pipes. The mathematical model is based on the use of numerical finite element method. A solid finite element and a special contact element were used to simulate the contact areas of interaction. The results of the studies of the KHPT-250 tube mill are presented, which made it possible to establish the causes for the extremely low life of the bearing and to suggest a fundamentally new solution that greatly increases the service life of the mill.
