The two-dimensional model of a crystal medium is considered that represents a rectangular lattice consisting of elastically interacting particles in the form of ellipses possessing transla-tional and rotational degrees of freedom. The differential-difference equations and linear equations in partial derivatives are obtained, which describe propagation and interaction of waves of various types in such a medium. The interrelation between the acoustic characteristics and the parameters of its microstructure is established. Possibility of control of dispersion properties of a medium by variation of parameters of its microstructure is shown.
