Abstract
Mechanical properties of highly porous metals, as well as experimental results on the compression of highly porous cell aluminum based on the AK7cast alloy, which are close to ideal deformation diagram of a highly porous material are considered. An analogy between deformation diagrams of highly porous metals and force characteristics of impact dampers is shown; a possibility of calculating estimate damper characteristics of highly porous materials, such as unit and effective impact absorption energy, is also shown.
