| The energy criterion of the crack growth is applied. Under the loading constant in time, the crack growth is stepwise. Two different types of the crack propagation are found. In the case of the load linearly increasing in time, the crack propagates smoothly. The models of Euler and Timoshenko give similar results for thin beams. |
