The paper analyses the behaviour of systems composed of two coupled areas with different degrees of non-linearity. For any point in time, the behavior of one system affects the behavior of the other and vice versa. A comparative analysis of coupled and partial systems is done, the degree of their coupling is specified, and its impact on the behavior of the aggregate system is analyzed. The connected systems include the following types: thin-wall structure - acoustic air volume enclosed in it; string-beam. Computational models are constructed using finite element method. Numerical results are compared with the data of natural experiments.
