Abstract
A gimbals-suspended gyro installed on an immovable base is considered. The dry friction is taken into account. This friction leads to the appearance of circular forces. Beside the linear dissipative forces, nonlinear forces act on the system. The action of circular forces leads to the loss of stability of the stationary motion of the rotor resulting in the occurrence of the limit cycle (Andronov- Hopf bifurcation).
