This study was performed to characterize the stress-strain properties of the human and porcine kidney tissues. Comparative analysis of the human and porcine kidney tissues was done. The properties of porcine renal tissues were found to match the material properties of human tissue closely enough, so that porcine tissue material can be used as a human test surrogate. The paper presents a three-dimensional model for kidney and a solution of the two-dimensional problem of the influence of seams on kidneys tissue.
