The non-mechanical principle of the transport phenomena of a liquid crystal is proposed to determine the flow between two coaxial cylinders. The interaction of the temperature gradient and the gradient of the director field due to the effect of the electric field near cylinder boundaries is accounted for. The size of the cell, the curvature and the heat regime producing the horizontal flow of the liquid crystal are etermined. |
