The issues of existence, stability and bifurcation of steady motions of two bodies in space joined with a tether are considered. The first body is assumed to move uniformly along circular Keplerian orbit and the second one is a symmetric gyrostat carrying a rotor on its axis of symmetry. The gyrostat is assumed to be secured to the first body by a rod with two spherical hinges. One-parametric families of steady motions of the system are found, their stability and bifurcations are investigated. |
