The methodology and data of the investigation into the kinetics of the strained state of materials in the process of periodic uniaxial loading are presented. Diagrams of the major components of the total strain tensor in asymmetric periodic mild tension-and-compression of specimens are shown. The detected regularities of deformation of specimens may be useful in solving the problems associated with the development of the material fatigue fracture criterion and in disclosure of the strain-hardening mechanism in the pre-fracture areas of structural engineering parts.
