A numerical simulation of sliding of a periodic system of indenters over a viscoelastic material is presented. The indenter tips have a spherical shape and the distance between them varies, so that various densities of contact spots are considered. Sliding occurs on the front surface of a thick-walled ring. The model allows analyzing the mutual influence of neighboring contact sports on the stress-strain distribution and the contact characteristics. The calculations are performed for different values of the coefficient of friction, which corresponds to the interaction in dry and boundary friction conditions. The parameters of the material model are verified by experimental data obtained from micro-indentation tests.
