In the present work, a non-local ductile fracture criterion is proposed as a generalization of one of widely used local ductile fracture criteria. In contrast to existing non-local ductile fracture criteria the area of applicability of the proposed criterion is restricted to a vicinity of maximum friction surfaces (at other points the criterion simply reduces to the original local criterion). The approach proposed is used for a parametric study of the process of plane strain drawing. The results obtained are found to be in agreement with general ideas concerning the effect of the parameters of the process considered on the condition of ductile fracture initiation.
