The influence of elastic deformation (uniaxial compression, tension, torsion, internal pressure, and their combinations) on the magnetic characteristics of structural steels 15CrNi4Cu and 11CrNi3Cu is studied. The data is obtained using the hysteresis model based on the theory of Jiles-Atherton. Analysis of several magnetic characteristics in aggregate provides a unique relationship between the mechanical stress and magnetic material parameters, and therefore can be used for nondestructive tests of stresses in steel structures.
