The dentofacial system of human is considered as a multifunctional biomechanical system, which, in turn, is a part of the virtual physiological human. A general biomechanical system of dental units of the dentofacial system is developed, and their interaction with other systems of the body is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the biomechanical analysis of the human temporomandibular joint. It was shown that the pathology of the joint causes the development of atherosclerosis of the internal carotid artery and subsequent insult to the brain (odontogenic insult).
