The effect of an internal wave on the distribution of bubbles in the subsurface ocean layer is investigated using the developed mathematical model. Two possible mechanisms of breaking of surface waves are considered: when breaking is caused either by a strong wind or by its interaction with an internal wave. The numerical simulation of the mathematical model for the given shape of an internal wave (periodic sinusoidal and cnoidal) shows that both mechanisms lead to the formation of a non-uniform distribution of bubbles in the layer near the ocean surface, which qualitatively copies the profile of the internal wave.
