Direct measurements of turbulent viscosity and effective magnetic diffusivity in turbulent flows of electro-conductive fluids or moderate magnetic Reynolds numbers above unity are reported. The measurements are performed in a nonstationary turbulent flow of liquid sodium, generated in a closed toroidal channel. The peak level of Reynolds number reached the value of about 3000000, which corresponds to magnetic Reynolds number of about 30. |
