Abstract
A model of a gas planet as a rotating gas ball in the gravitational field is suggested. The upper bound of the atmosphere is derived from the condition of monotonic decrease of density in the equilibrium state. The sound characteristics of the model are analytically investigated, and the propagation of sound wave in the rotating atmosphere is described.
