Abstract
Experimental results of investigating the effect of the thickness of a passive porous coating on the development of natural disturbances in a hypersonic boundary layer, using the model of a sharp cone for the zero angle of attack and Mach number of M = 6, are presented. An optimal thickness of the porous coating providing the maximum stabilization effect of second mode disturbances is shown to exist.
