The realization of the main steps of the stability analysis process of bending a panel into a cylindrical sector using the Maple computer algebra system is presented. For two material models with nonlinearly elastic properties, it was found that the bending diagram has an extremum point followed by a falling region. To study the stability based on the bifurcation approach, the Maple-independent block of the code was developed which analytically implements the linearization of the equilibrium equations. Some issues are discussed which are related to the location of bifurcation points on the diagram of loading as well as to the influence of the material parameters on the possibility of buckling when loaded in bending.
