Abstract
Surface topographical changes of Cu80-Ni20 foils under irradiation with 40 keV boron ions have been studied by the AFM method. Smoothing of both irradiated and back surfaces of the foils has been found to take place and it has a quali- tatively similar dose dependence for both sides in the range of 5·1015–1·1017 cm-2. This phenomenon is interpreted as a manifestation of the long-range effect.
