An algorithm has been developed for AFM nanoscale morphometry of bacterial cells. The analysis of quantitative characteristics has revealed the dependence of bacterial cell morphological parameters on the physicochemical properties of the substrates used. Highly oriented pyrolytic graphite and glass cause minimal deformation of bacterial cells. Nanolithography techniques for surface modification have been developed that allow native bacterial cells to be studied in a liquid environment. |
