The paper analyses Roman armour decorations of the Principate, focusing on the iconography of the victorious emperor. The author considers parade armour decor containing subjects, which were associated with the Imperial cult and Imperial propaganda, and comes to the conclusion that specimens of this kind with images of the emperor may have been a part of the dona militaria. |
