Abstract
The paper describes an effective technique for Monte Carlo simulation of sounding radiation propagation in com- plex biological tissues as applied to the problems of diffuse optical spectroscopy. The standard Monte Carlo method is modified on the basis of the biased sampling technique. A description of the proposed method is given and its parame- ters are analyzed. Estimates of the method validity and efficiency are presented.
