Abstract
A decrease in glutathione S-transferase activity and an increase in the content of protein oxidative modification products have been detected in rat blood serum and muscle tissues after exposure to high-intensity laser light. A further exposure of the samples to low-intensity broadband red light led to reactivation of glutathione S-transferase and a decrease in the level of oxidation protein products. It was concluded that low-intensity broadband red light can hinder the development of oxidative stress in biological tissues exposed to high-intensity light.
