| This article considers the names of rivers, lakes, ravines, hollows, and peaks, and reveals their origin by a com- parative analysis of the languages of the native inhabitants of the area, mainly the Mordovian (Mokshanskiy and the Erziya). The most typical in their structure groups of hydronyms, consisting of both a Finno-Ugric root and a combi- nation of stems with the addition of Russian language components are revealed. |
